How do I book an inspection?

You can book an Inspection by calling us at 647 448 4196. You can also submit your request online at http://www.fchi.ca/contact.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

In order to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require at least 24 hours notice. Please contact Jamie Fluker for cancellation or rescheduling requests.

How do I pay for the home inspection?

We accept all major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and AMEX). Other acceptable payment methods are certified cheques, money orders, and bank drafts.

How and when will I receive my home inspection report?

We will verbally communicate findings to you onsite on the day of the inspection. Your report will be emailed to you following the home inspection.

Will the home inspector provide me with price estimates for any problems found?

Prices provided in the inspection report are estimates only and are intended to be guideline figures. They are based on the most cost effective solution to address the problem. We will not determine the cost of replacement or repair. It is recommended that you obtain at least three price estimates from qualified contractors before finalizing budgets for any work.

Will you repair damages found during inspection?

Under the Professional Code of Ethics, professional home inspectors who are members of inspection associations cannot be linked with any other construction or home related trade due to a conflict of interest. An inspector will be able to advise you on the appropriate specialist you should consult with.

Should every home inspector be a professional engineer?

No, an engineering designation is not a mandatory certification.

Should I attend the inspection?

Yes, attending the home inspection is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and learn about any issues your home may have.

How long does a home Inspection take?

Home inspection times vary, on average a single-family home (1800 – 2500 sq. ft) takes approximately 2.5-3 hours. During this time, a home inspector will thoroughly inspect your home, verbally disclose any findings to you onsite and answer any questions you may have.

Can I call at a later date for information and advice?

If you have any questions about the report you can give us a call.

If my home is less than five years old is an inspection necessary?

Yes. Just because the home is new does not mean that everything is in perfect working condition. An inspection is always recommended before purchasing any home (old or new).

Do you inspect commercial buildings or only residential homes?

Currently, we only perform residential home inspections.
